Impressive in the special on the handlebars of his Ducati 1100 Streetfighter, Bruno Langlois won the rally ahead of Bruno Schiltz (Suzuki 750 GSR) and Mickael Porcu (Aprilia 550 SXV). Report of a race rich in twists and turns: things are moving this year !

Loop B with a good half hour delay…

Once everything is back to normal, the race continues towards Aigrefeuille for the fourth special of the day. The road route is a little different from loop A in the first kilometers to avoid St-Helène, then takes the same route as the first loop.

Aigrefeuille, second visit of the day. Bruno Langlois drives the point home and again posted the best time on the handlebars of his Ducati 1099 Streetfighter in 2’20.63 in front of Flavien Coitoux on KTM 690 SMC in 2’21.06 and Bruno Schiltz on Suzuki 750 GSR (who was in ambush in the first three stages ), third time in 2’23.66.

As for the categories and in particular the sidecars, it is also a hard battle: the Laur / Ferrieu team at the controls of its Choda 1300 Suzuki team is still ahead of Amblard / Bourdiaux on its team (probably found in a secondhand market …) Choda 1100 Kawazaki from 1991, but for a few tenths in this special (23rd time in 2’35.87 for Laur / Ferrieu, 24th time, and 2’36.13 for Amblard / Bourdiaux).

In Classics, Nick Ayrton leads the dance on the handlebars of his Suzuki 1100 GSXR and slams the 21st time in 2’35.03 … It’s because he moves his "old", the British !

We then set off again towards the Sevrey motorcycle center where the 15 minutes of regrouping are no longer done (to make up a little for the time lost during the neutralization of the Dominique Quintin accident) and after having pointed to the CH (in the right direction for everyone this time!), we head back to St-Helène for special n ° 5.

Bruno Langlois’ Ducati 1099 Streetfighter must run on methanol because it will never let go of the race lead! This time it sticks less than 5 seconds to the second (less than earlier anyway, would it become reasonable? For a fifty-something anyway …). Bruno slammed a time of 3’55.00 ahead of Paul-Christian Piazza on KTM 450 EXC (second time in 3’59 64) and Flavien Coitoux on KTM 690 SMC (third in 4’00.79). Bruno Schiltz is still just behind and places his Suzuki 750 GSR in fourth position (4’02.85), one tenth ahead of the official KTM 990 Superduke of the pilot Site Julien Toniutti (4’02 95).

Then it’s back to St-Jean-de-Vaux for the end of the day stage. At the friendly municipal campsite, the pilots prepare the motorcycles for the night stage and relax. We do the accounts: Bruno Langlois largely leads the way with nearly 32 seconds on the second, Bruno Schiltz. The penalties incurred by Paul-Christian Piazza and Flavien Coitoux are costing them dearly! In third position we find Mickael Porcu less than eight tenths from Bruno Schiltz: the battle will be bloody for second place !

Julien Toniutti however managed his race well: he was able to move up to seventh position and even if it will be difficult to reach the final podium of the rally, he pocketed precious points for the championship following the penalty from Paul-Christian Piazza. We must now focus on the night stage where everything can still change !
