Motorcycles banned on weekends in the Vosges ?

This decision comes after an increase in the number of deaths on the roads of the Haut-Rhin in 2012 (41 killed against 29 in 2011), and in particular of bikers: "a dozen bikers, two thirds of whom were killed on the roads of Vosges ", said prefect Alain Perret.

The General Council, which had already limited traffic on the Route des Crêtes to 70 km / h, is studying carefully with the State services the "legal adjustments" to "concretize the order as much as possible".
Because "to be valid", explains L’Alsace, "the ban must be circumscribed in space and in time. Among the mountain passes of the massif, three would therefore be spared: those of Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines, du Bonhomme and de Bussang, which are very busy crossing points ".
This measure to ban motorcycles could be taken "from this year on an experimental basis", hopes the prefect who also pleads for the device to be extended to the department of Bas-Rhin … Still work to do for the !
