Honda exhibits its Interceptor concept at EICMA in Milan

Honda is exhibiting a splendid sports motorcycle concept at the EICMA show in Milan based on the new CB1000R. Among the curiosities of this Interceptor is in particular a propeller in the bubble that would feed its instrumentation !

Honda has, like every year, left free rein to its "Design Studio", the creative entity of its R&D structure based in Rome (Italy), to which we owe the new philosophy from which the news comes, and 2018.

The result, in the form of a concept currently exhibited at the EICMA in Milan (Italy), is spectacular: the Interceptor is a splendid sports bike with sleek lines. The minimalist rear part beautifully integrates the tailpipe, while the front gives a nod to old endurance bikes via a round optic and its rounded fork crown.

 

This LED headlight hides an unexpected propeller in its center … which MNC thought for a moment was used to power a futuristic 4-cylinder supercharging device snatched from the CB1000R! Lost: this propeller would convert – in the imagination of its designers! – "kinetic energy in electric current to power the touch screen installed on the tank", reveals Honda. 

 

A "2.0" wind turbine, in a way, that we may find – who knows? – on the Honda motorcycles of the future … On the other hand, the other peripherals installed on this concept are all that there is more contemporary … and very luxurious besides: high-end Olhins suspensions, Brembo monobloc brakes with radial mounting, Pirelli Slicks tires, carbon spoke rims…

We also appreciate the long tank with particularly pronounced notches, the single-seater saddle and of course the very beautiful single-sided swingarm which releases the rear of this bike, as on the. Now let’s hope that this Interceptor will not remain just a concept: it would be wasted !
