Unplanned collisions with wild animals can have dire consequences – especially for motorcyclists. Even for drivers, accidents with wildlife are anything but harmless. In recent years there have been an average of between 2,000 and 3,000 road accidents with personal injury in Germany. A new device called Siren7 from a manufacturer called B&B Group GmbH should now prevent or at least greatly reduce accidents with wildlife. That “Wildlife warning system” sends high-frequency warning tones.

These are warning tones of such high frequency that humans cannot hear them. Animals perceive the acoustic signal animals from a distance of up to 300 meters. According to the manufacturer, the signal should frighten the wild animals and, in the best case, prevent them from approaching the area that motorcyclists and other road users will pass in the next few moments.

The small gadget is attached to the front of the motorcycle.

According to the manufacturer, the device does not require a power supply. Instead, the warning signal is generated with the aid of the airstream, which is used as an energy source. The system should use its full potential from a speed of 70 km / h. The manufacturer does not explain how this technology should work in detail. As mentioned, the signal is aimed at wild animals – pets should also hear the noise, but the sound of dogs and cats should be heard & Co. are not perceived as annoying. The device can be attached to the motorcycle with the supplied adhesive strip. In the installation video, the Siren7 is placed on the fender. According to the manufacturer, the adhesive strip should be easy to remove without leaving any residue, for example when changing a motorcycle. The device with the dimensions 45 x 60 x 26 mm can also be used for cars and mobile homes. The 50 gram Siren7 is on the official manufacturer website to have from 57.99 euros.

The device can also be attached to the car.

Conclusion

Devices that protect road users from involuntary encounters with wild animals and prevent potential accidents are of course welcome. Problem: Whether and how well the system works can only be guessed at. The manufacturer quantifies the wildlife accident rate of vehicles with the warning system “zero”. How you have probably determined?
