Launched by Honda, the CBR500R Cup is a simple and economical promotional formula, directly inspired by the immense success of the CB500 Cup (won in 1996 by a certain Sebastien Charpentier, double Supersport world champion). Accessible from 13 years old – no maximum age limit! -, this branded cup opposes 40 pilots in parallel of the French Superbike championship (FSBK).
The organizer, B12 Motorsports like, distinguishes several categories including a "Junior" (13-18 years) and a "Feminine".
Many prizes are up for grabs and the winner will this year win a Honda CB650F, as well as a helmet sponsorship contract with Shoei. Registration forms must be completed online before March 15 via the .
One of the advantages of this user-friendly formula is its reasonable cost. It is indeed possible to run with a CBR500R having already taken part in the 2014 and 2015 "Cup" or to acquire it at the preferential rate of 5000 € (against 6199 € in launch price!), Then to equip it with the pack compulsory with a value of 2505 €. This CBR500R Cup pack includes an Akrapovic silencer, poly fairings, various protections (engine, crown, right lever), a set of additional wheels with discs and a graphics kit.
The total cost of registration for the full season – 7 races – is € 2,430, while the cost of one-off participation (wild card) is € 455 per event. The calendar follows that of the FSBK: the kick-off will be given on March 26 and 27 at Le Mans (72) and the final will take place on September 24 and 25 in Albi (81).
