The FFM gives a positive assessment of the Women’s Cup 2017
The French Motorcycling Federation (FFM) gives a positive assessment of the Women’s Cup 2017, a motorcycle speed trophy entirely reserved for women which took place over three races at Le Mans, Ledenon and Magny-Cours.
"The starting grids were full on each of them with the key to the first title of" winner of the Women’s Cup "in the 1000 cc and 600 cc categories", rejoices the FFM.
Erika Jeannot, Margaux Wanham and Aurelie Hoffmann in 1000 cc
The female pilots competed over 12 laps in the race. Erika Jeannot (Yamaha), second in the "gala" event of the Women’s Cup at Le Mans last year, climbs to the top of the podium after the three races and wins the Women’s Cup with a full card! Equally impressive regular, Margaux Wanham (Suzuki), currently entered in the Coupe de France Promosport in the 1000 cc category, comes second ahead (Ducati) who, after a difficult start at Le Mans, finished fourth at Ledenon and 5th in the rain..
- Women’s Cup :
Gaelle Remy (Kawasaki) finishes at the foot of the podium after having encountered some difficulties at Magny-Cours.
Rebecca Bianchi, Sandrine Pionetti and Marthe Clavel in 600 cc
The Italian Rebecca Bianchi (Yamaha), who won the first 600 cc event at Le Mans, was unable to start at Ledenon. Despite an injury at Magny-Cours, she won the event again and therefore finished on the highest step of the general podium ahead of Sandrine Pionetti (Honda) and Marthe Clavel (Triumph), second and third respectively..
"The 2017 season of the Women’s Cup is therefore ending successfully, the competition attracts women and the pilots once again showed a level and exchanges worthy of major competitions with constant progress compared to 2016", welcomes the FFM whose committee for the promotion of women’s motorcycle sport "will continue its actions for the years to come in order to anchor this trophy in the essential events of the calendar and the potential is already great for 2018".
In the meantime, it’s time for the classic Endurose, the 100% female enduro event in Beaujeu, in Beaujolais, on July 15 !
