The Motocyclist Union of France was created on March 3, 1913, ten years after the birth of the very first French motorcycle club: the Motocycle Club de France, based at 94 boulevard Richard Lenoir (Paris), near the Place de la Republique, two turns of the wheels from the current headquarters of the Federation !

Renamed the French Motorcycling Federation (FFM) after the Second World War on December 7, 1945, the FFM today brings together 26 regional leagues, 1,300 affiliated motorcycle clubs, 70,000 licensees and 100,000 members..

Its status as an association under the 1901 law does not prevent it from managing an annual budget of 15 million euros and employing nearly 60 permanent staff, including those from the newly renovated Carole circuit, for example (read).

Centenary that its had invited nearly 800 guests to a great evening organized at the Moulin Rouge: the 2012 French world champions surrounded by other legendary drivers, officials and members of FFM committees, many representatives of motorcycle clubs and partners, journalists, etc..

All were able to attend the screening of a film retracing the history of the FFM (see below) and received a preview copy of the beautiful book written by Jacques Busillet and Patrick Tran-Duc retracing the history of the Federation.

This book, which the Site team strongly recommends to lovers of motorcycles and sports history, "will be available at the start of the year".

"A comic book project that would bring together many motorcycle specialist designers is also being studied", specifies the FFM to the attention of the youngest that the photos of the book – however numerous! – would not appeal enough.

During the same evening, Jorge Viegas, first vice-president of the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM), presented Jacques Bolle with a plate in commemoration of the centenary, saluting the work accomplished by an exemplary FFM, "the best motorcycle federation to the world, "he assured !
