The two-wheeler business is not completely new territory for Bilstein. The manufacturer has been producing stereo struts for older motorcycle models as well as struts for trailer conversions for years. But now Bilstein also wants to cushion more demanding tasks. This is reported by the British branch of the chassis specialist.

From autumn onwards, high-quality forks and mono-suspension struts will enrich the portfolio. The forks should be fully adjustable and equipped with hard chrome-plated and titanium-nitride-coated standpipes. These in turn run in high-quality alloy outer tubes with wet bearings and low-friction seals. The damping is ensured by monotube units with gas pressure. The adjusters pile up on the left fork tube.

Extensive setting options are also available for the struts without a reservoir. The pre-tensioning should be possible either by knurled nut or hydraulically. The aluminum dampers, which can be installed in any position, should save a significant amount of weight. In this way, there should be optimal access to the setting wheels in every installation position.

Prices have not yet been announced.
