Updates for both Gixxer variants
Suzuki presented a revised Gixxer at INTERMOT in Cologne. The Japanese manufacturer donated the Suzuki GSX-R 1000 and the even sharper R variant in the 2019 model year some minor improvements and new paintwork.
The biggest innovation on the Suzuki GSX-R 1000 is undoubtedly the quickshifter that is now available, with which clutch-free upshifts and downshifts are now possible. This function was previously the slightly more expensive Suzuki GSX-R 1000 R reserved. The exhaust cover of the Gixxer was also revised by Suzuki.

For the 2019 model year, Suzuki has also given the R variant steel braided brake lines. So far, the top model from Suzuki had to be content with rubber lines for the front brake system. In the 2019 model year, Suzuki will equip both new GSX-R models with the new Bridgestone Battlax Racing Street RS11 as their first tires. Both Gixxer models are still powered by a liquid-cooled four-cylinder in-line engine that should produce 202 hp at 13,200 rpm and 118 Nm at 10,800 rpm.

The GSX-R 1000 is equipped with a quickshifter from model year 2019.
Otherwise there are no noteworthy technical changes to the two models. For both the standard Gixxer and the GSX-R 1000 R, buyers will in future be able to choose between three different color variants. The GSX-R 1000 is available in “Metallic Triton Blue”, Glass Sparkle Black / Metallic Matt Black No. 2 “and” Pearl Glacier White / Glass Sparkle Black “. The sharper R variant will be available in the colors “Metallic Triton Blue”, “Glass Sparkle Black / Pearl Mira Red” and “Pearl Glacier White”.
Prices and market launch not yet known
Suzuki has not yet announced prices. The Japanese manufacturer has not yet commented on the market launch either. Incidentally, in the 2018 model year, the GSX-R 1000 cost 16,950 euros. The starting price for the GSX-R 1000 R was 18,990 euros last year. In the past, Suzuki offered the previous year’s models a little cheaper after the newer bikes were released. A look at the 2018 models could also be worthwhile next year.
