Concept drawings show SV as enduro

The Italian designer Oberdan Bezzi has thought about possible Suzuki enduros. Concept drawings based on the Suzuki SV 650 show what they could look like.

S.In the past few years, uzuki was not necessarily known for developing and bringing a large number of brand new and innovative models to the market. At EICMA 2019, the traditional Japanese manufacturer presented the refreshed V-Strom 1050 with DR Big bonds, the Katana was on it a year earlier. Otherwise, there wasn‘t much news from the Japanese. The concept drawings by Oberdan Bezzi, who turned a Suzuki SV 650 into rally-look enduros, show what a new enduro model could look like.

Bezzi decided to create the so-called rally based on a well-known motorcycle, as Suzuki has also followed the same strategy in the recent past. For example, the new Katana mentioned above is based on the Suzuki GSX-S 1000 / F. The GSX-S 1000 / F, on the other hand, relies on a drive for the motorization that was already used in the Suzuki GSX-R 1000 from model years 2005 to 2007. The V-Strom 1050 is a slightly further developed V-Strom 1000.

Again a real enduro

Although the V-Strom 650 is already a mid-range enduro in the Suzuki model range, a new rally model with a real enduro approach could definitely find its fans. The concept drawings by Oberdan Bezzi accordingly focus on real enduro values. The tubular space frame of the SV 650 is retained, the cast rims are replaced by spoked wheels with coarse tires. A USD fork guides and springs in front. The radially attached Brembo pliers bite into a double disc system. The aluminum rear swing arm is supported on an extended central spring strut. A small tank together with a cross-style bench that rises slightly towards the rear creates a slim line. But also Dakar variants with an XXL tank are conceivable for Bezzi. A duckbill-style front mudguard grows out of the small lamp mask. A cover protects the elbows that run under the engine. For the silencer, the choice fell on a steeply inclined silencer from Akrapovic. The off-road look is rounded off by a wide tubular handlebar and hand protectors as well as paintwork in yellow and black or blue and white. The Italian designer does not give any technical data. The V2 built into the SV 650 has 76 hp and 64 Nm.

Conclusion

Although the Suzuki SV 650 Rally designs are not works that were made by Suzuki, the concept drawings are nevertheless quite appealing. Such a model would look good on Suzuki and surely find one or the other fan.
