Half-boots in full grain leather with a 4.5cm heel
Flexible, waterproof, approved
Finding urban, feminine and heeled motorcycle boots is not easy. However, for small builders like me (1m60), a 5 cm heel can save our lives on motorcycles that are a little too high.. TCX offers leather half-boots with a heel of a good size, the X-Boulevard. I tried them over several months.
Discovery
The boots are made of full grain leather, the noblest part of the cowhide which is tanned and waterproof. At the aesthetic level, we can not guess that these are motorcycle approved boots. No protection for the selector, no visible shell at the ankle (there is one though) … In short, at first glance, these are city leather boots! A belt-style side stripe gives just a bit of a cowboy / country look like many women’s motorcycle boots. And we don’t have a boot with pink edging or other motorcycle decorations either, with just the brand embossed in the strap..
The boots therefore go unnoticed under the pants.
TCX X Boulevard black boots
The opening is done by a classic zip closure which is very practical and makes it easier to put on.

At the level of the sole, there is a reinforced sole with good grip and especially a 4.5 cm heel.
Test
Cut
First point, they cut normally. I am a size 38 and I was right in it straight away, like a pair of traditional boots.
Easy to put on and comfortable walking
Putting on is super easy! Already these are boots and therefore they do not go very or too high. The boots are put on in one go thanks to the flexibility of the leather and the zip closure. No lace! Even if it is less tight than in other boots, the hold of the foot and ankle is well assured.
We do not feel the protection at all at the level of the malleolus.
They are not ultra-flexible but I found myself good in them from the start. If some boots become softer over time by rolling and walking with them, this is not the case with these. However, walking is pleasant even if we will not be hiking with it. It is above all a city biker use. TCX has developed a sole shape adapted specifically to the female model: narrower and a thinner tip for the look.

Resistance to cold and rain
By just putting on socks, the boots protect very well from the cold even when temperatures approach 5 ° C. Regarding the rain, the TCX boots are waterproof thanks to a waterproof membrane lining. It was checked during the winter in the rain, so the feet stay dry. You just have to make sure you have the pants on top because the boots do not go very high and water can infiltrate from the top..
Motorcycle stops facilitated
What a joy to be able to put your feet flat when stationary, when you are usually on tiptoe. The almost 5 cm really make the difference. You just have to get used to the placement of the foot on the selector and the toe clip as there is an empty space between the sole and the heel (compared to shoes with a flat sole). A few kilometers are then necessary to take your marks and not to be embarrassed.

Grip
The sole is really well designed to offer excellent grip, so as not to slip, even in the wet.
Boot marking
With durable leather and a black color, the left boot was not particularly marked by the selector.
Conclusion
Women’s motorcycle boots with heels are rather rare on the market. We can only deplore it. X-Boulevard boots perfectly meet the need for height and femininity of certain bikers. The qualities expected for a motorcycle boot are also present with impermeability, comfort and protection. And if the official price of this model is 149 €, we can find them on the net for ten euros cheaper, which is justified with an excellent quality / price ratio..
