A good perspective is a prerequisite for safe driving? especially off-road. MOTORRAD tested eight cross goggles for their suitability.
Holger Hertneck
01/27/2003
No enduro rider or crosser is out and about without them: cross goggles. They protect the eyes from dirt, stone chips and drafts. The only question is which of the many models on the market best suits your equipment. Because not every pair of glasses is suitable for every helmet. On the one hand, the glasses are of different widths and heights, on the other hand, each helmet offers different space conditions. A fitting with a helmet therefore prevents disappointment.
The glasses should lie as evenly as possible on the face, neither press on the nose nor “hang in the air” because the frame could get caught on the helmet shell. From the wide range, MOTORRAD picked eight specimens from the most important manufacturers and spent a week in the Italian Alps under the microscope for fit – which was tested with different riders and helmets, field of vision and anti-fogging.
