Prince William at TT 2018: the Duke of Cambridge is on motorcycle
The 2018 TT Zero electric motorcycle race was won yesterday by Michael Rutter, who set a new record lap (194.73 km / h). But pilot Mugen got stolen from the spotlight by the future King of the United Kingdom and Lord of Man: Prince William… future Norton driver also ?!
Michael Rutter yesterday became the first man to cross – widely – the 120 mph (193 km / h) mark on an electric motorcycle around the "Snaefell Moutain Course". But his feat has gone relatively unnoticed due to Prince William’s "involvement"…
And they‘re off!
The Duke flags off the TT Zero race, which sees teams compete on electric motorcycles without the use of carbon based fuels.

The Cambridge "Duke" indeed took advantage of its coming to to give the start of the TT Zero Race … The not so Little Prince that it spent the day on the Isle of Man "to meet the officials, support the team and volunteers of the Tourit Trophy – one of the oldest sporting events in the world – meet members of the local community and appreciate the work of the Joey Dunlop Foundation ".
Big fan of motorcycles – a little less since his marriage and the birth of his children, like many ?! -, William allowed himself a little recreation on the way up – stationary! – on the Norton n ° 1 of Mister McGuinness, unfortunately forfeited this year.
The current "King of the Mountain" (21 victories on the clock for "McPinte"!) Is however present on the spot, which allowed him to perform a little parade on Saturday and to exchange a few words yesterday with the future "King of the United Kingdom" and "Lord of Mann".
The community manager of Kensington Palace has inadvertently tangled his brushes by reporting Prince William’s visit to Norton: the is not a "zero emissions motorcycle" !

As a reminder, it spits "more than 200 hp" and 130 Nm in its homologated road and Euro4 version … In Tourist Trophy configuration, its maximum power is estimated at 235 hp, for as many decibels or almost ?! "Gorgeous, isn’t it?"…
Norton Electric’s unintentional "fake news" has been picked up by the Daily Mail – and how many tabloids? -, but the boss of the English brand does not rebel: Stuart Graner rightly considers that the papers published in the general press are "great for the notoriety of the Tourist Trophy and of motorcycles in general".
