Moto Guzzi unveils V85 TT and V9 Bobber Sport in Mandello
The traditional Moto Guzzi open house weekend was another success! Visitors were particularly spoiled by discovering the final version of the V85 TT trail and a V9 Bobber Sport, which the brand will exhibit at the Cologne and Milan shows.. Presentations.
Twice as many as last year … According to the organizers, 30,000 Moto Guzzi enthusiasts rushed to the historic headquarters of the "eagle" coat of arms in Mandello del Lario (Italy, ma que!) On 7 , September 8 and 9 in order to visit – an umpteenth time? – the brand museum, browse the production lines of the factory, carry out road tests, afford accessories and clothes, share, exchange, eat, drink…
But the highlight of the show of this "Open House 2018" was undoubtedly the presentation, in preview, of the all new V85 TT, a mid-capacity trail, preceded a short year ago at the Eicma by the "Concept V85 "extremely successful and very close to the final model !

The Italian brand, which will be celebrating its 100 candles in two and a half years, believes that it is currently enjoying a second youth. The proof ? "The new V85 TT, exhibited for the first time in its final version, whose success was felt not only through the enthusiastic comments of the public, but also by the reservation of a thousand tests".
On the minisite dedicated to its future (top ?!) model, Internet users can register for a test which can take place "as soon as the V85 TT is available at the dealer near you", announce the Italians without further ado details.
The V85 TT website is also slightly frustrating since it does not deliver almost any data on the bike for the time being and only includes a few photos. To know everything about this important 2019 Moto Guzzi novelty, you will have to wait a little longer…
Will the trail be present from the Intermot show in Cologne or will we have to wait for the Eicma show in Milan to discover its technical sheet, its release date and its price? One thing is unfortunately certain: French bikers interested in this motorcycle will not see it at the Piaggio group having decided to .
- MNC of September 13 :
The first Enduro Classic … at Moto Guzzi !
The only data appearing on the official website is the power of the 850 cc 90 ° V-twin, which has been thoroughly revised: the 80 horsepower is confirmed! What to do to r (o) ugir the owners of V9 Roamer or Bobber, whose V-twin develops only 55 hp…
Site notices that the silencer has changed: the “factory machine” exhaust fitted to the concept has been replaced by a more “large series” component. Pity ! In contrast, the tubular frame – painted red! – which surrounds the engine – painted black – does not seem to have been modified.
MNC notes that the Ohlins suspensions have disappeared … This is good news this time for bikers with little pockets. Moto Guzzi, for its part and at the same time, reserves the right to release a more racy version allowing to revive – or to take off – sales..
By examining the rare photos published by Moto Guzzi, we can distinguish other minor changes: screws appeared on the fork protectors and on the screen, which is also lower, the mounting brackets for the headlight and the instrumentation (color TFT !) have been redesigned, the Brembo calipers and the mono-shock spring have darkened.
Overall however, the final rendering is up to the original concept … or the original concept should we rather write, because in terms of originality, Moto Guzzi is not as strong as it is. claims: this V85 TT has been offered by BMW for two years.
A new V9 Bobber Sport
At the same time, Moto Guzzi took advantage of his high mass in Mandello to lift the veil on a new V9, in a style that is currently furiously trendy: the Bobber Sport! This other novelty for 2019 differs from the "short" Bobber in several points.
First of all "by its lowered single-seater seat, combined with its usual low drag bar handlebars supported by shorter risers, which imposes a" low ride "driving position, more accentuated, folded and sporty", describes the manufacturer.
Then, "by Ohlins shock absorbers adjustable in spring preload as well as in hydraulic rebound and compression, which ensure better damping capacity for small bumps as well as better control at high speed", promises Guzzi.
Rear controls, "new and flamboyant orange" colors, aluminum side plates, bevelled pots, truncated front fender, fork gaiters, lowered headlight with black aluminum rim and topped with a screen are also part of the specifics of this V9 Bobber Sport which will be marketed at the end of October at a price of 11,449 euros.
This time, Moto Guzzi takes the wheel of Triumph, Indian, Harley, etc. Fans of the genre won’t complain about seeing the Italian brand copy their competitors take inspiration from post-WWII US bikers !
The Guzzistes may on the other hand regret that this more "sporty" Bobber does not come out a little later, just to benefit from the services of the new 80-horsepower windmill inaugurated on the V85 TT … See you in 2021 for the release of a V85 Bobber Sport Anniversario ?
