Fabrizio, Laverty and Haslam win at Kyalami
After a superb brawl that saw the top five riders cross the checkered flag in an interval of just 1.479 seconds, Leon Haslam (Suzuki Alstare) won the second Superbike race this afternoon in Kyalami (South Africa).

While he had dominated the race for a long time, Jonathan Rea (Hannspree Ten Kate Honda) passed Haslam on the penultimate lap and finished second ahead of Max Biaggi (Aprilia Alitalia) third.
Cal Crutchlow (Yamaha Sterilgarda) and Carlos Checa (Althea Ducati), who remained in contact with the leading trio, were never able to attack and must be satisfied with fourth and fifth place respectively. In the championship, Haslam (222 points) leads the way ahead of Biaggi 207 and Rea 141, ex-aequo with Checa.
Laverty wins in Supersport
In Supersport, Eugene Laverty (Parkalgar Honda) wins without division by signing his third victory in a row (the fourth of the season) ahead of Kenan Sofuoglu (Hannspree Ten Kate Honda) and Chaz Davies (ParkinGO Triumph BE-1).
Fifth this afternoon, the former leader of the provisional classification Joan Lascorz (Kawasaki Motocard) gives way to Sofuoglu who now leads the way with 117 points ahead of Laverty 116, Lascorz 112 and Davies 71.
Fabrizio dominates the first Superbike race
Michel Fabrizio (Ducati Xerox) dominated the first Superbike race this afternoon in Kyalami (South Africa).
He unquestionably wins ahead of Carlos Checa (private Althea Ducati), Leon Haslam (Suzuki Alstare and Max Biaggi (Aprilia Alitalia).
Jonathan Rea (Hannspree Ten Kate Honda), author of a splendid comeback at the end of the race, takes a nice fifth place.
Superpole: Yamaha Sterilgarda in the front row !
Cal Crutchlow and James Toseland (Yamaha Sterilgarda) both broke the lap record during the Superpole, so far held by Ben Spies.
This is his third pole of the season for Crutchlow who wins in 1’37.243, just ahead of his teammate Toseland.
Carlos Checa (Althea Ducati) is third on the starting grid, while Michel Fabrizio (Ducati Xerox) completes the first row.
Note that the gap between Crutchlow and Fabrizio (12 hundredths) on the first row is the tightest in the history of the World Superbike !
Leon Haslam (Suzuki Alstare) finished fifth on the grid ahead of Jakub Smrz (Ducati Pata B&G) and the Aprilia Alitalia driver duo, Max Biaggi and Leon Camier.
"It was not said that we would be first and second on the grid this weekend," admitted poleman Cal Crutchlow: "arriving on this circuit which was the worst for Yamaha last year, the team did a fantastic job to achieve this ".

His team-mate James Toseland, second on the starting grid tomorrow, explains that in his quick lap he felt he had the possibility of setting a time of 1’36. Matthieu Lagrive (ParkinGO Triumph BE1) ranks fifth thanks to his time yesterday ahead of his teammate Chaz Davies while the leader of the provisional classification, Joan Lascorz (Kawasaki Motocard), ranks only eighth.
