While Jonathan Rea (Pata Honda World Superbike Team) was the fastest this morning under sunny Portimao (Portugal) ahead of Marco Melandri (Aprilia Racing Team, first in practice on Friday), and Sylvain Guintoli (Aprilia Racing Team, third in the standings combined), it is finally Tom Sykes who signs on the Portuguese circuit his third pole position of the year, the 22nd of his career .
The Kawasaki rider will start tomorrow in Portimao ahead of Jonathan Rea and Chaz Davies (Ducati Superbike Team) while the French side, Loris Baz (Kawasaki), will start in 5th position, Sylvain Guintoli (Aprilia) in 6th, Sylvain Barrier (BMW Motorrad Italia) in 10th, Jeremy Guarnoni (Kawasaki) in 22nd and Fabien Foret (Kawasaki) in 23rd.
Also note, 4 minutes before the end of the session, the fall of Claudio Corti who was transported to the medical center but does not suffer from any serious injury.
