After the announcements of the withdrawal of the official Ducati team in 2010, then that of Yamaha last year (read and), the press release entitled "BMW Motorrad readjusts its sporting activities: the commitment to the 2013 World Superbike Championship"could lead to fear the application of the adage"never two without three"…

Ultimately, it’s only a partial withdrawal: "BMW Motorrad Italia will take charge of the factory and test team as well as the development of the chassis", while "BMW in Munich will be responsible for the development of the engine and electronics part".

On the one hand – the good one – this means that the two factory S1000RRs will still be part of the World Superbike field in 2013, but on the other – worse – than those of the Italian team driven this year by Fabrizio and Badovini will no longer be at the start next year.

Indeed, "the focus of the new structure on a single team is clear and efficient, the concept is legitimate and logical", describe without qualms the German officials…
