WSBK 2015: assessment of the first tests in Spain

And meanwhile in Valencia…
While the two official Ducati and Kawasaki teams and their top riders were racing in Aragon, the private Ducati Althea team and its two new recruits – accompanied by their colleagues registered in Superstock 1000 – were also warming up in Spain, but at Valence.
Note that unlike Giugliano and Davies who tested the Panigale in the "WSBK 2015" configuration last Monday and Tuesday, Terol and Baiocco were driving the 2014 Evo version of the 1199 Panigale R: the one ridden in 2014 by the former member of the ‘Althea team, Niccolo Canepa.
Arrived at an anonymous 18th place during its two weeks ago – in Valence, precisely! -, Nico Terol seemed delighted to change air: "during these two days, I started to get to know the team and I immediately felt like a member of the family".
"This is very important to me because we will have to work together to achieve our goals", insists the – last -."I came here with the desire to succeed and my debut on the bike was very good"he remarks.
Taking advantage of his perfect knowledge of the Ricardo Tormo circuit, Nico managed to get ahead of his new team-mate Matteo Baiocco (see the times below). "I immediately felt at ease", explains the Spanish n ° 18:"I really like the Panigale and I was able to improve over the laps".
Vice Italian Superbike champion in 2014 – and development rider for Ducati! -, Matteo recalls that he had "rode in Evo only once this year"and that he has"had to get back in the bath here", on a circuit he had not visited for four years.
In the end, Matteo "di Osimo" can be proud of himself since he only gives back two tenths of a second to his illustrious teammate. "We did an important job here, without focusing on the lap times", he clarifies for all intents and purposes,"by taking everything in its time".
The young Italian driver shares Jonathan Rea’s current motto: "step by step"Happy with his first two days of testing, Baiocco is now looking forward to joining his new comrades next week in Jerez,"to test the machine in its 2015 configuration", To follow on the Site of course: stay connected !
