The World Superbike wants to make the fun last

Site readers – who, as everyone knows, have a little more memory than the others – remember that two years ago, in particular with the aim of limiting telescoping telescoping with MotoGP and Formula One. A measure that did not match the pace of WSBK fans, more owls than early risers ?!

"After receiving positive impressions from WorldSBK promoters, circuits, manufacturers, sponsors and TV partners", Dorna WorldSBK Organization (DWO) has decided, in agreement with the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) to review its program.

"The first of two races, which usually took place on Sunday morning, will now be contested on Saturday afternoon, with a completely revised schedule so fans can enjoy WorldSBK more from Friday morning and through Sunday afternoon."… and more to abandon bobonne and the kids? Oh bravo.

"This new format aims on the one hand to increase the number of fans present at the circuit for the day on Saturday but also to give them the opportunity to experience the adrenaline of WorldSBK over two days.", justify the organizers … and the sponsors who will be able to"provide much more entertainment for their guests, while allowing fans to enjoy the action on and off the track whenever possible".

All schedules are obviously upset, since the "practice sessions counting towards qualifying will now take place on Friday"and that the Superpole will be brought forward in the morning of Saturday (see the new program on the second page).

DWO and the FIM take advantage of this announcement to point out that "In 2016, the FIM Supersport World Championship also adopted a qualifying format modeled on that of the Superpole in WorldSBK. These WorldSSP qualifiers will take place on Saturday morning, before the first WorldSBK race.".

Sunday morning will now be "dedicated to the warm-up sessions of the WorldSSP and WorldSBK categories, before the race resumes for the second time this weekend and offers fans a new opportunity to experience one of the most exciting motorcycling championships in the world". Roll on Saturday … February 27, 2016, that the new season begins !
