Yadea – don’t you know? It is the world’s largest manufacturer of two-wheel electric vehicles. Yadea sells more than 6 million electric two-wheelers annually in more than 80 countries. The electric scooters made in China are also available in Germany. They are usually ordered and set up by a sales partner here in Germany, who then sends the vehicle to the buyer via a forwarding agency.
Extensively equipped Yadea C1S
The top end of the Yadea electric scooter range marks the C1S. It costs around 3,299 euros and is accelerated to a maximum of 45 km / h by a 2,200 watt brushless hub motor. Disc brakes (CBS) are used to brake. The replaceable Panasonic battery uses the same cells as the batteries in the Tesla Model S. It should provide a maximum range of 80 kilometers. The scooter itself weighs 96 kilograms and a load of 171 kilograms is permitted. A maximum of 8 hours are required for charging.
The design of the Yadea C1S was created in collaboration with the Austrian design agency Kiska, which is largely responsible for the current KTM design. The sustainable designer Beckers from Sweden supplies the paintwork for the scooter.
Keyless start, 5-inch LC display, smartphone connectivity, cruise control, LED lights all around, theft alarm, USB sockets and reverse gear are standard. A light sensor at the front also ensures that the main headlights switch on automatically in the dark and switch off again in the light.
A 25 liter storage compartment under the seat of the Yadea C1S is waiting to hold two helmets or other items. A second and smaller storage compartment with a USB socket and cover is located on the front section.
The hydraulic CBS brake system is installed on 12-inch rims at the front and rear. Front tires: 90 / 90-12; rear: 100 / 80-12 56J. The suspension is provided by two hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear and a suspension fork at the front.
Interesting for Asia and everywhere else where there is regular extremely heavy rainfall (rainy season): The built-in hub motor is waterproof. The Yadea C1S should therefore be able to continue driving in floods and storms, where most petrol scooters fail.
Yadea C-Umi and Yade C-Line
Both scooters drive a maximum of 45 km / h and are powered by a 1,200 watt (1.6 hp) electric motor. The replaceable lithium-ion battery can be charged within 4 to 6 hours. Then a range of around 60 kilometers should be possible. A weight of 65 kilograms is specified for both scooters. Together with the 11 kg battery, the ready-to-drive scooter has a total weight of 76 kg. With a permissible total weight of approx. 221 kilograms, this results in a maximum payload of 145 kilograms.
Yadea C-Umi and Yade C-Line are available for 1,799 euros each. Keyless start is just as standard as a USB socket, LEDs light up all around, and disc brakes are used to brake. The difference between the two lies in the design: the Yadea C-Umi tries to imitate the Vespa look with a little more curves, the Yadea C-Line shows classic scooter lines.
Yadea G5
The G5 also accelerates to a maximum of 45 km / h. At 2,599 to 2,999 euros, it is more expensive than the C-Umi and C-Line, but it comes with higher-quality equipment: Instead of 1.2 kW, it delivers 2.3 kW and provides a range of a maximum of 80 kilometers. The battery should be fully charged in a maximum of 8 hours.
In the cockpit, a 7-inch LC display with automatic brightness control provides information, the smartphone can be connected and stowed in a storage compartment with a USB port on the inside of the front panel. Further equipment features of the G5: alarm system, LED lights, 26-liter storage compartment under the seat, 12-inch wheels, 220 mm hydraulic disc brakes on both wheels, 88 kg vehicle weight, 11 kg battery weight, 155 kg payload.
Conclusion
Yadea not only sells the largest number of electric scooters in the world, but they also have a wide variety of models for every target group. The portfolio also includes very inexpensive scooters under 1,800 euros as well as design vehicles over 3,000 euros.
