Yamaha Delight in the test

Yamaha D’elight in the test

98 kilograms, 114 cc and 7.3 hp

When the city threatens to suffocate in the morning rush hour and the traffic lights get more bizarre every day, then it’s time to change: two-wheelers like the Yamaha Delight have a future.

Two-wheelers are space-saving, agile and ideally use less than half as much as the fuel-optimized diesel units of modern tin cans. Anyone who would like to experience urban mobility at an affordable price in the future can now also find it at Yamaha something in the program.

No fiery sprint away from the traffic lights

A 114 cubic centimeter single cylinder works in the scooter called D’elight. If it vibrates quite vigorously while stationary, the two-valve engine, once started, happily takes a back seat. The belt-driven variator also works very quietly. Anything else would be exaggerated, because the power of 7.3 HP, which is quite manageable even for a scooter of this displacement class, develops rather cautiously.

Don’t expect a fiery sprint away from the traffic lights. It is surprising that the classically and nicely designed scooter weighs just 98 kilograms. In combination with the small twelve-inch wheels, this results in top handling, and thanks to a generous steering angle, turning maneuvers are possible almost on the spot. The driving characteristics are also unproblematic.

The equipment is in order with the open face helmet compartment below the seat bench, open glove compartment and fuel gauge, the workmanship is even at a very high level. The consumption of less than two liters per hundred kilometers also. And the price? 2175 euros including utilities.
