“Poor XT”, he must have thought when he adopted the old driving school motorcycle. But Fran Manen immediately had a clear idea of what to do with the 2001 Yamaha XT 600: a scrambler with studded wheels, everything black except for the fuel tank and the upside-down fork in silver.

XT 600 conversion from Malaga, Spain

Lord Drake Kustoms’ customization team in Malaga (Spain) first completely dismantled the motorcycle. Then the rebuilders modified the chassis. Here they made several adjustments to customize the fuel tank without disturbing the oil filler cap that the XT 600 carries on the top bar of the chassis. They also fitted the upside-down fork with a 19-inch wheel.

Then the seat, front fender, air filter box and part of the exhaust manifold were manufactured. There was also a BMX-like handlebar, a 5.75-inch headlight with a yellow lens and other details such as the indicators in the handlebars. In order to improve the rear suspension, it was decided to replace the standard shock absorber with a slightly longer one.

Everything in black except for the tank

Finally, all parts were sent for painting: glossy black or structured powder coating in black was the motto. With the exception of the fuel tank. It got a coat of paint in military green, which is similar to that of the Land Rover models of the Spanish army.

the Yamaha XT 600 was rebuilt in the custom workshop of Lord Drake Kustoms in Malaga and can be shipped worldwide on request.

Many are beautiful, but also impassable.

Better to leave it in its original condition.

Conclusion

A rare commodity, a Yamaha XT 600, you can take on a rocked-down driving school motorcycle. After the custom treatment, you can no longer tell that it once served numerous beginners.
