Deus Ex Machina’s workshops once again stand out in the Yard Builts category. The XV 950 is transformed into a summer side to perfection and particularly fun.
“Deus Milan has once again created a machine that will mark the history of the Yard Built series,” comments Shun Miyazawa, Yamaha Motor Europe Product Manager. “They managed to create a truly original motorcycle for the summer, taking inspiration from the XV, without compromising on its handling or driving pleasure.. The LaXV 950 was the perfect foundation for the creation: its torque-rich 950cc engine delivers the right performance for a modern sidecar concept, and therefore the versatility needed for all types of adventure. In addition, Deus preparers did not make any changes to the chassis or engine and did not cut or weld anything. Little extra that makes the difference: you can order parts directly from Deus to give a “D-Side” touch to your own XV. ”
Determined to give a clean style to the sidecar and to favor simplicity, Deus turned to the marine world and drew his inspiration from the world of ancient boats to design this sidecar. The result is obvious: a classic boat shape at the front and a nice wooden space at the rear for storing luggage. The sidecar has the same front wheel as the XV 950, supporting the effect of symmetry.
For the XV 950, the preparers of Deus were inspired by one of their previous creations: the “Drover’s Dog” Brat Style, a SR 500 with simple lines with a fastening system for surfboards. This influence is reflected in the XV, with a surfboard mount between the sidecar and the bike and a clean, streamlined styling showcasing the torque-rich V-twin engine..
The Deus team stripped the XV entirely to add their own touch by transforming the bike without cutting or welding the chassis. A custom rear frame has been added to raise the height of the saddle, clad in an Alcantara cowl. An aluminum fuel tank signed Deus brings the final touch to the beautiful lines of the D-Side. Deus-made aluminum front and rear mudguards blend seamlessly with the tank, while Deus / Discacciati six-piston calipers provide additional braking power..
A Sc-Projet exhaust, Deus custom aluminum filter and air intake provide the summery soundtrack, while MX grips and Motogadget speedometer enhance rider comfort. Several small customizations allow the creation to stand out and the hand-painted finish by Kaos Design gives the final touch to the D-Side.
Owners of the Yamaha XV 950 can contact Deus directly to order specific creation items or play the game to the end by requesting a complete sidecar to fully enjoy the pleasures of summer: http: // deuscustoms. com /
