Yamaha YZ 250 2012

Yamaha’s first victory in the Motocross World Championship dates back to 1973. It was with the first version of the YZ 250, with two-stroke engine, of the brand. Today, with its light, long-stroke engine delivering instant full power, it is still at the top of its game and remains the ultimate two-stroke cross-country motorcycle..

Its high-tech aluminum frame actively contributes to the low weight of the YZ 250. Its new lightened rims reduce the unsprung weight, which contributes to improving its agility and the quality of its suspension. A new “speed block” decoration reinforces its factory look. Newly designed saddle provides the rider with the perfect balance between mobility and grip.

With its powerful two-stroke engine, its remarkable agility and its featherweight, the very last model YZ250 propels you into another world. The YZ 250’s long-stroke, liquid-cooled two-stroke engine is equipped with the YPVS (Yamaha Power Valve System), which promotes torque and power at low revs. The YPVS improves the characteristics of a traditional two-stroke engine by increasing its range of use.

The YZ 250 has a lightweight chassis thanks to a particularly accomplished aluminum frame. This frame, which combines rigidity and flexibility, contributes effectively to the rigorous behavior of the YZ 250. Thanks to its low weight, its compactness and a judicious distribution of the masses, the YZ 250 is precise on the trajectory, lively at the change of angle and easy to place when jumping.

The inverted fork equipped with effective protections and the Kayaba combined with the titanium spring of the Monocross system, provide the YZ 250 with a suspension with remarkable progressiveness and optimal efficiency, both in the compression and rebound phases. The particularly compact petal-disc brake system minimizes unsprung weight and promotes the responsiveness of the suspension on all types of terrain. The new saddle offers better grip while optimizing rider mobility, so crucial with a cross-country bike.
