2001 Kawasaki ZX-6R 600

Kawa’s sporty style is refined, edgy, and the ZX-6R takes advantage of its 2000 vintage to rebuild its head, following the stylistic trend. No fuss, sport! Tense, concentrated, the beautiful does honor to the world of Supersport. Playing in the same court as the Yamaha R6, it offers similar performance without going to the extreme. Understand by this that this 600 Ninja has kept dazzling sporting qualities but also surprising driving comfort for the category. Sporty but not radical driving position (thanks for the wrists), good protection, comfortable saddle, excellent suspension work … Everything is there to consider the road without worry. And at the end of the day, the mechanics are pretty well filled at mid-range for a 600 sport.
By changing generation, the 6R lost weight: 5 kgs. Thanks to the use of magnesium, aluminum, as well as an important work on the chassis and the engine, the bike goes down to 171 kgs. It also announces nearly 120 hp in dynamics with the forced air intake.

Would you believe it. The Kawa doesn’t hate the city. Perhaps the large saddle height is detrimental – but that does not affect the ease of handling the machine. Like any good sportswoman, it is on the circuit or in the great outdoors that the nervous little girl expresses herself with all her ardor. Handy, agile, efficient, the chassis is exemplary rigor while forgiving the small mistakes of the inexperienced pilot. Coupled up to 8,000 revs, the boiler then explodes with the angry behavior well known to Kawasaki. Entrusted to 6 piston calipers, braking is formidable.
Despite all its qualities, the ZX-6R was beaten against the clock on the circuit by the R6. Giving pride of place to the road as to the track necessarily involves concessions and that unfortunately makes you lose a few tenths (yes, well, you really have to be a driver). That said, the Yam is only untouchable on the track. On the road, the green is also efficient, 100 times more comfortable and frankly less trying.
