Rallye des Coteaux page 1: Where, who and when ?

Racing Auto Moto Passion (RAMP) cut its teeth in the world of motorcycle road rallies with the organization of the first edition of the Rallye des Coteaux à Mauves (07), a great race that will be remembered !

A final round in accordance with the decision of, its organizers had no right to error. Challenge met: it was a success !

As much on the side of the runners’ park, located around the Mauves sports hall with all the necessary facilities for the comfort of the participants (toilets, showers, electricity …) as on the rally route, traced on a loop of 67 kilometers of small Ardèche roads with two specials: Flat (3.3 km of rapid but with relatively degraded surface in places) and Amboulons (3.2 km of tortuous with four hairpins in the "Mont Faron" style. In short: very selective !

The Ardèche program

After a prologue lap, this route will have to be completed three times for the first stage (the day one) and three times for the second stage, known as at night but of which the first lap will be done … by day..

A two-hour break will be granted after this first lap of the second stage, the last two laps being done at night for everyone. These two stages are defined as fair in terms of the allocation of points, which must be done separately for each stage.

The course will therefore have ten special passages: three times Flat and three times Amboulons in the day stage, twice in the night stage.

As for the drivers, although the general atmosphere is good – as usual in rallying – two competitors look at each other doggedly: the reigning French Elite champion, Christophe Velardi (Ducati West Europe) on the handlebars of his Multistrada 1200 n ° 1, would like to keep his title but the leader of the provisional, Bruno Schiltz (CTM83) on the KTM 1290 Superduke R n ° 2 has every intention of obtaining his first title of champion of France Scratch, Elite SW Motech…

Bruno, who is only one point ahead after the, must absolutely finish ahead of Christophe if he is to win him the title … It promises !

It is less hot in the contenders for the titles of the categories, the "Rallye 2 Tecnoglobe" (single cylinders over 400 cc, twin cylinders from 500 to 700 cc and scooters over 125 cc). The leader of the provisional, Maxime Mettra on KTM 690 Duke 4 CTM83, looking relaxed, but he has already toasted his four jokers and must withstand the assaults of the young and fiery Tanguy Brebion (Husqvarna 701 SM), motivated to take out the big Game !

For his part, Julien Toniutti is rather relaxed: "I am happy because in fact originally I did not come at all to win but rather to refine the settings of the bike for my participation in the Moto Tour. ", he explains to MNC after the rally. His new steed, the Triumph Street RS 765 from Central Team, will be the one he will ride in the next (and last?) Edition from October 7 to 15..

In Rally 3 (125 2 and 4-stroke, single cylinders less than 400 cc and multicylinders less than 500 cc.) The (KTM 390 Duke KTM 34 Suttel motorsport). But the young rider does not have both feet in the same shoe, he will certainly try to scratch some points in Elite SW Motech by riding this time on a KTM 690 Duke..

The games are also made in Anciennes for Christian Lacoste and his 500 BSA. The title is in his pocket, but when we love we don’t count and Christian will be at the start of this first Rallye des Coteaux !

This will not be the case for Nick Ayrton, in Classics riding his eternal Suzuki 1100 GSXR, too. Nick is saving himself for the which he will participate in the MNC colors: more info soon !

Not to mention the contenders for the Women, Hope, Duo and 125 trophies: all are ready to do battle on the Ardèche roads, abandoned by road rallies for several years. Thanks to RAMP for this rebirth !
