Face to face Kawasaki VN 1700 Voyager / Triumph Rocket III Touring: 4,000 cc for the holidays !
Do you like to go far, long and on the couple? But you don’t know (or don’t want to) travel light? No problem: Site has tested two vehicles on the road for you: Kawasaki VN 1700 Voyager and Triumph Rocket III Touring… XXL duel !
At the time of the assessment
Back in the rain on the small roads of the Morvan, the time has come to take stock of our two machines. First, walk around – proudly! – on their handlebars require a solid motorcycle experience, a significant adaptation time … and a bank account to match !
In absolute terms, the 17,999 € requested by Kawasaki for its VN 1700 Voyager seem rather reasonable given the services and technology advanced by its flying carpet … especially if we compare them to some 27,000 € for a Harley or almost € 30,000 for a Goldwing! In addition, for this price, Kawasaki offers you an iPod and the possibility of "cruising" far, long and without feeling any form of fatigue..
On the other hand, the note is already much saltier on the Rocket III Touring which flirts shamelessly with the 20,000 €. Triumph is charging dearly for its colossal 2,300 cc engine, which must ensure that minimum standard equipment is forgotten. But the engine sensations are not everything – especially in this category – and it will be necessary to resort to the catalog of options to equip it with essential accessories such as the sissy-bar or the keyed fuel cap….
Fans will console themselves with the very correct handling and braking – for the genre – of the Rocket III Touring and its spaced service intervals (16,000 km). Strong arguments for heavy riders !
