Sofa roller Sym Maxsym 400i
The ingredients for sofa rollers are known, the customers are spoiled. If Sym succeeds in creating a new cake with a known recipe?
M.Let’s face it, in the sofa roller business you can’t get past the Suzuki Burgman. Least of all in the 400 class, since Burgman is the inventor, benchmark and top dog in personal union. Seen in this way, it was smart that the Sym men oriented themselves to the bestseller when designing their top model. 2Rader was able to drive a few kilometers with a first copy.
Even from a distance, the stylistic similarity to the successful model is noticeable. A closer look does not refute the impression, which is not a bad omen. The crew is spoiled with space and comfort. At first glance, the sympathizer doesn’t miss anything. The cockpit is fully equipped, three lockable compartments in the leg shield offer space for small and medium-sized items. Large and large items can be found under the fat bench with back supports for the driver and front passenger. In addition to lighting, there is also an as "electric immobilizer" titled yellow slide switch that interrupts the ignition current in the corresponding position. Unfortunately, there is no ABS anywhere. The two radially hinged brake calipers on the forehand do not give any consolation either. There is nothing essential to complain about in terms of their effect and their ability to be measured; adjustable levers facilitate operation. The drive also gives little cause for complaint. The four-valve engine goes about its work with a sonorous bubbling and low vibrations. The driving behavior corresponds to the genre: The Maxsym follows the commands with fullness and a tendency to inertia. Even with a moderate inclination, the touching parts remind you to be careful. It remains to be said: Less than 6000 euros is a challenge. For this, the customer has to forego the high-quality finish of the Burgman 400 in addition to the ABS, but saves a whopping 1355 euros.

Driving behavior
In the city
Narrow city traffic is not the favorite area of the massive Maxsym. The large dimensions require wide gaps and good concentration on the part of the driver. But the SYM is not alone in this. When it is there, the large luggage compartment helps with the removal of the shopping loot.
On the country road
The 400 feels most comfortable on the country road. With 34 hp, it is sufficiently motorized to move forward quickly. On winding stretches, the relatively low lean angle is a problem. Apart from that, the confident and neutral steering behavior of the Taiwanese pleases.
On the highway
With the specified maximum speed of 135 km / h, the Maxsym is not a rocket, but it is fast enough to make the journey to the target area swiftly. The fairing promises good wind and weather protection, the noise level behind the fixed window depends on the size of the driver.
