Seldom before has it been so easy to catapult yourself out of the bends with a wheelie as with the Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR. Open the accelerator and hit 7000, the front becomes light and rises a hand’s breadth over the asphalt. The power wheelie can then be pulled through effortlessly and weightlessly. Speaking of electronics. It takes a while for the Tuono driver to come to terms with the bits and bytes. The response behavior and drag torque can be regulated using the Sport, Track and Race driving modes, while ABS tuning can be done separately using the menu. It is not surprising that the anti-lock device in the sleek Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR is basically sporty. Even on the tamest level, the Italian still lifts her pretty bottom when the brakes come hard. It’s just a shame that the Aprilia, which is so upgraded in terms of electronics, does not yet have the blipper function, which is currently so popular with new developments, i.e. the downshifting without clutch supported by the on-board computer with double-declutching.
Be that as it may, because when it comes to the chassis it is also noticeable that the Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR has become easier to handle. Much more velvety than the predecessor model, the noticeably softer coordinated Sachs spring elements absorb bumps and potholes, strike the right compromise between the necessary feedback and the comfort that makes sense for the hunt on bumpy country roads. OK then. Especially since the rest of the fine work again emphasizes the sporty attitude of the Tuono. Together with the less cranked handlebars, the lowered front also moves the driver a bit forward and puts a little more strain on the front wheel.

And so the domesticated Italian stabs precisely in the hairpin bends, holds the line precisely and neutrally. Enjoyment without regrets. Which also applies to the revised brakes. With the more aggressively designed pads, it is possible to brake into the corners with slightly less manual force and a more defined pressure point, and in this respect, too, enjoy the fine-tuning of the new Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR.
And forget that it is actually of secondary importance whether the finely honed Tuono on the data sheet is now back in the position of chief of the power-naked bikes. On the country road she is always right at the front. However, also on the price list. At 16,490 euros, the sleek Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR costs exactly one thousand more than for its predecessor.
