Wunderkind started the milling machines for the BMW R18 and offers a wide range of accessories for the large boxer cruiser, from hand levers to rear conversion.

With the BMW R18, it’s not just the engine that’s big. Almost all add-on parts with their dimensions represent an omnipresent presence. And as it is always said in the annual routine examination at the family doctor: A little less would be good. Uncle Doctor usually means the body around the waist. The men behind Wunderkind think of the size of the BMW. In particular, the baroque dimensions of the fender at the rear of the BMW are a thorn in the side of the child prodigies.
Rear conversion with integrated lighting
The exact opposite of Baroque has become the swinging rear conversion. A tightly cut fender made of steel with milled struts, in the ends of which the 3-in-1 combination lighting is integrated. A matching new solo seat in bobber style, which can be moved about five centimeters lengthways on the frame tube, allowing seat heights between 67.5 and 69 centimeters. The conversion comes including all cables and fastening materials for 2,149 euros. On top of that come the painting of the fender and a solution for holding the license plate. Wunderkind also offers this. The side bracket is attached to the axle mount with screwless license plate mounting and costs in black and with approval from 379 euros. An interesting alternative to the completely new rear is the combination of side license plate holder and mini LED lights under the original fender.

Breisacher all sorts
The extensive rear conversion can be rounded off with a few smaller measures at the front. Wunderkind offers various cranked tubular handlebars on new risers as well as milled hand levers or new LED indicators for mounting on the mirror brackets. If you want to start small, you can first start by swapping the standard mirrors for the milled mirrors from Wunderkind. Cost per piece: 139 euros.

Who has ever undertaken major modifications to their own motorcycle??

Sometimes a mirror is exchanged, more is not possible in terms of craftsmanship.
I regularly change turn signals or other parts of the lighting.
Original is boring. I always rebuild as much as possible.
Conclusion
Customizers favorite – the BMW R18. This is what it seems when you look at the news pages of the Umbauer von Welt or the parts manufacturers such as ABM subsidiary Wunderkind. The choice is huge. From a simple mirror to a complete rear conversion with a new seat – almost everything is offered. Even the conversion to a tested flap exhaust system from Jekill and Hyde is offered.
