It has long been rumored and interpreted. On March 28, 2018, the official confirmation came: Danny de Boer has docked with Yamaha MGM. The first photo is clearly from a cell phone camera, but is solid evidence.

The Dutchman is the only IDM driver who was able to defeat the then outstanding Markus Reiterberger once last year. An immune deficiency later threw the 28-year-old into a forced break. But Danny has completely recovered over the winter months and is fit. As a fitness training, he has “unwound an infinite number of kilometers by bike”, as he himself says, and he was also a regular at the gym. Motorcycling was not neglected either. Trained with a 300 machine on a cordoned off site on an industrial site. “When the thermometer climbed over eight degrees, I was there.”  

Standard tires ensure deceleration

Danny de Boer began his racing career in motocross at a young age and switched to road racing in 2002, where he has been consistently strong in various championships since then. One of his career highlights is undoubtedly the title in the Superstock 1000 class of the IDM 2016. In preparation for the season, de Boer will start on his home track in Assen, the Netherlands, with a wildcard in the Superstock 1000 European Championship from April 20-22 walk. From there he will travel directly to Oschersleben for the IDM opening training, which will be followed by the first race weekend of the new season from April 27 to 29, 2018.

Team boss Michael Galinski explains why team setup and publication took so long: “We had already signed a contract with Dunlop. We have worked a lot together in the last two years, but now we drive on Pirelli due to the new standard tire regulation. To be honest, I struggled a little with myself to start at all, but finally decided to attack again this season. With Danny we have an absolute top driver who is certainly able to fight for the podium in every race. We look forward to this new task with him and will do everything we can to put the best prepared material in the box for him. “
