After a year of absence, tuner and team boss Sepp Buchner returns to the IDM. He relies on a newcomer as a driver. His name is Kevin Sieder, he is 18 years old and comes from Lower Austria.

As a reminder: with Marvin Fritz, the gifted tuner Sepp Buchner landed a success story. Within four years, the Bavarian led his protege to two IDM titles, first in the Supersport 600 class and in 2016 in the superbikes. Together, the Dream Team rose to the Superstock 1000 EM with Yamaha. Now the paths parted. Fritz cannot continue to dance at two weddings at the same time, because he also competed in the Endurance World Championship for Team Yamaha Austria. He had to make a decision. It fell out in favor of the World Endurance Championship.

Buchner relies on young talent

So Buchner is building up a new talent in his biker boxing team and is also looking forward to the IDM comeback. Kevin Sieder is an unknown number in Germany’s highest street racing class. The Lower Austrian competed in the Czech and Austrian championships so far. Apart from the Lausitzring, he doesn’t know any of the tracks on which the IDM is held. 2017 will be an apprenticeship year. He should really get to know the YZF-R1. Before the start of the season in Oschersleben at the end of April, he already has eleven days of testing on three tracks in Spain. Because so far Sieder has mostly driven Kawasaki.
