Softshell jackets have long been known from the recreational sports sector. Appropriate clothing combines weather protection, wind resistance and heat retention with breathability, softness and elasticity. Motorcycle clothing specialist IXS has now adapted these properties, valued by outdoor and mountain sports enthusiasts, for the Classic SO Moto motorcycle jacket.

Extensibility creates an optimal fit

The IXS Classic SO Jacket Moto should offer a sporty, body-hugging cut, but still offer maximum freedom of movement. To round off the perfect fit concept, the jacket has Lycra comfort cuffs and adjustable cuffs.

According to the manufacturer, the outer shell of the jacket is made of a resistant and hard-wearing material. It should be moisture-repellent and have insulating properties, while there is a wind-repellent layer underneath. Thanks to the moisture-regulating effect, the water vapor should be directed to the outside. Four ventilation openings also help to adapt the indoor climate to individual needs. But the jacket is not waterproof.

But because a motorcycle jacket must offer protection against injuries during a descent, shoulders and elbows are partially reinforced with aramid fabric. Shoulders and elbows are also provided with the latest generation of CE-certified protectors. A back protector is not included, but can be retrofitted. Reflectors ensure better visibility. Smaller utensils can be stowed in two outside and three inside pockets.

For use away from the bike, the jacket has a detachable hood that is available in different colors. In addition to the men’s jacket (S – 3XL), there is also a version for women. The women’s sizes range from S to 3XL. The colors black, blue and olive green are available. The basic price of the XS Classic SO Jacket Moto is 149.95 euros.
