Retro chic with a new color

The Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Kawasaki is sending its retro model W800 refreshed for Euro 5 and with a new color into the new model year.

Brought after two years of abstinence Kawasaki In 2019 the W800 will be back on the German market in three versions. While the Street and Cafe versions have been left at Euro 4 level and will therefore be sold, only the Standard has been trimmed to Euro 5.

The 773 cm³ in-line twin with bevel shaft delivers 48 hp and 63 Nm torque even according to the latest classification. The W800 Standard also impresses with its raised tank emblem, shiny spoked wheels and many chrome parts. Fenders, handlebars, mirrors, gear levers, brake pedals, chain covers or oil filter covers are allowed to shine. The engine has polished side covers.

New color for 2021

New for model year 2021 is the only available color. Kawasaki calls them Metallic Ocean Blue. Kawasaki names 9,743 euros as the base price plus around 340 euros for ancillary costs. The street is offered for 9,548 euros. The Kawasaki website no longer shows a price for the cafe.

The version recently presented in Japan for the 2021 model year Meguro K3, that is even more classic cannot be found in the European range.

Conclusion

Kawasaki is thinning out its range of retro models for the 2021 model year. From the W800 family, only the standard version will be continued as a Euro 5 model. The special models Street and Cafe will be sold as Euro 4 models.
