At the top of the ranking, everything stays the same: the BMW R 1200 GS remains the measure of all things. But what happens behind it? Only BMW and Honda models follow in the new motorcycle registrations up to 13th place in February 2017. A model from another manufacturer only lands in position 14: the MT-07 from Yamaha.

Otherwise, two more bikes from Yamaha, a Ducati and a Kawasaki, made it into the ranking. KTM, Suzuki, Triumph and Harley-Davidson, on the other hand, are not represented in the top 20. All placements can be found in the picture gallery. In addition to the new registrations in February, the cumulative new registrations for this year are also shown there.

As usual, in addition to the total registrations and the new registrations for the corresponding month, we also indicated how many of the new motorcycle registrations are due to natural persons and how many are due to legal entities.

For a better understanding: you are a natural person if you privately own a motorcycle. Motorcycles that are registered for legal entities can be, for example, dealer motorcycles, daytime registrations, driving school motorcycles or government vehicles (e.g. police motorcycles) – but also business vehicles from companies and associations outside the motorcycle industry.
