As reported by the European Commission, machines from the production period July to November 2019 are affected by the recall. The report does not name a number of machines affected in Europe or even worldwide.

Around 1,200 motorcycles in Germany

When installing the ABS pressure modulator, too much grease is said to have been applied to the O-ring of the brake fluid reservoir. Dirt adhering to it can impair the function of the non-return valve. This can lead to a sudden drop in brake pressure and thus to longer braking distances. At Honda the recall runs under the code 3LL.

The batch number of the ABS modulator is checked for all recalled vehicles. If this is within the range of the defective batch, the ABS modulator will be replaced. In Germany, 1,191 machines from model year 2020 of the type CRF1100A / D type SD08 / SD09 are affected by this recall.
