Rossi’s VR46 team: into MotoGP with Ducati
Rossi’s VR46 team
Three-year deal with Ducati for MotoGP
It was speculated for a long time, now it’s official. Valentino Rossi’s Aramco Racing Team VR46 will compete in MotoGP with Ducati bikes.

The Aramco Racing Team VR46 has now officially confirmed that they and Ducati have signed a joint three-year contract, whereby they will compete together in the MotoGP World Championship from 2022 to 2024. There were obviously offers from other manufacturers on the table.
The Tavullia-based team itself has a contract with Dorna that ensures participation in MotoGP for the next five years. The Aramco Racing Team VR46 will operate as an independent team. The position of team manager will be taken over by Pablo Nieto, who currently holds the same position with Sky Racing Team VR46 in Moto2 and Moto3, whereby the Spaniard works closely with the talents of the VR46 Riders Academy and the current teams in the intermediate and lightweight classes will work together.
Sponsor wants Rossi as a driver, Rossi is thinking of quitting
In addition to the works team, the Pramac satellite team and the Gresini customer team, the VR46 team will be the fourth team to compete in MotoGP on Ducati motorcycles. As a driver for the new VR46 team, Luca Marini is set for the MotoGP season 2022. The second driver’s seat has not yet been taken. The main Saudi sponsor Aramco would like to see Valentino Rossi as a pilot alongside his half-brother. Rossi himself has publicly thought about resigning at the end of the season for the first time. Rossi himself thinks it is very unlikely to be driving in his own team. Rather, he is thinking specifically about the end of his career. Rossi still wants to make the final decision during the MotoGP summer break. But he makes it clear that the season has not been fantastic so far. That’s why it’s very unlikely that I’ll be racing in 2022 as well.
Conclusion
The Rossi VR46 will compete in MotoGP on Ducati machines from 2022. The contract with the Reds lasts for three years.
