With its 150 cubic meters, the hamster manages 43 km / h, whereby the lack of suspension makes more than 20 things a torture.

With a tank and a reserve canister, there are 15 liters of fuel on board, which should be able to propel the hamster for a good 15 hours. The saddle is from an Ural motorcycle.

On board are still a rope, a gas stove, a tool case with ax and folding saw, as well as a lantern, a compass and a thermos – for tea. What else?

  • Hamsters a la Russki
  • 85 kilos, 43 km / h
  • Unique piece with offspring
  • Conclusion

We are all regularly in the workshop, stumbling across a China scooter with 150 cubic meters and a snowmobile from the days of an already graying USSR, which, by the way, would be 100 years old in 2022. So what to do The trusted scrap dealer only comes once a month, several meters of steel pipe are still lying around and the welding machine is happy to be looked after. This is probably exactly how the story unfolds in Edward’s workshop. His solution to the partial excess is the Homyak, in German hamster.

Hamsters a la Russki

Eduard takes the scooter motor and places it in a new frame made of tubular steel. The variator no longer drives a small wheel, but rather the caterpillar of an old Buran snowmobile via a chain drive. Combined with a 10 liter tank, in addition to five in reserve, the hamster is now rummaging around the paddock of Russian off-road races.

85 kilos, 43 km / h

Homyak whizzes up to 43 things fast through the soft soils of the taiga, whereby the lack of suspension makes driving over 20 km / h a torture. The handlebar is more of a grab handle, changes of direction succeed on soft ground with shifting weight and a lot of courage. On hard floors, you need even more courage or enough strength to wheel the compact 85 kilos – or is it called caterpillar – and put pressure on the notches.

Unique piece with offspring

Eduard’s plan to assemble a few individual parts to make something new works brilliantly. So grandiose that he has to build another hamster right away. This time for money. A series is still not planned, although there should be enough scooters from China and Buran-Mobile.

Many are beautiful, but also impassable.

Better to leave it in its original condition.

Conclusion

News from Bizarre. Eduard Hamster with the scooter motor and the rubber caterpillar is a great result of Russian tinkering. Splendid.
