Tried Heizteufel ruff
Tried Heizteufel ruff
For the cold days
For the frostbite among us bikers, the Berlin outfitter Heizteufel has recently started offering a heated ruff. How does it fare in the first test?
Fabian Dresler

The Heizteufel ruff is pleasantly thick and reliably windproof, even when it is switched off in fresh spring temperatures. The overlap in the chest and neck area is generous – the cold bridge on the collar is completely eliminated. When the heating function is activated, it is even cozy and warm.
Battery not included in the price
The battery, which is not included in the price, heats the entire inside of the ruff and thus also the neck, chest and shoulders. Two different battery strengths are available, 7.4 and 11.1 volts (including charger available from 130 euros). With the more powerful version, the lowest of the three heating levels already provides plenty of heat. If you select the highest level by pressing a button on the battery, you even get a real wellness feeling.
The length of the cable allows the power supply to be stowed in an inside or outside pocket of the station wagon. Alternatively, a supply via the on-board socket is also possible. For an optimal effect, the ruff should be fixed tightly. Therefore, make sure to choose the right size when buying. Available with accessories in the online shop at www.heizteufel.de.
Noticed positively: Windproof, good thermal performance
Noticed negatively: Battery not included in the price
Sizes: S / M, L / XL
Price: 120 euros
MOTORRAD verdict: 4 stars out of a possible 5
Conclusion
In itself, the ruff from Heizteufel does a good job in cold temperatures. It’s just a shame that the battery is not included in the price.
