Women Riders World Relay (WRWR)
World’s largest motorcycle relay ride
The world’s largest motorcycle relay race, the WRWR, consists of a wooden relay baton, over 15,000 members and around 200 riders from 80 countries. It’s about demonstrating the power of women riding motorcycles.

Going to motorcycle and accessory stores and seeing only a “small selection combined with stereotypical pink” was what Hayley Bell from Great Britain had had enough of. With the Women Riders World Relay and all the female bikers who ride and participate, she wants to refute the argument that there is no market for women who ride a motorcycle. “I want to show the industry the strength that lies behind the market, which has so far been ignored.”
Relay run has been running since February 2019
In August 2018, Hayley Bell founded the Facebook group “WRWR – Women Riders World Relay”. Their goal: A “worldwide sisterhood of inspiring women” to promote courage, adventure, unity and a passion for motorcycling.

On February 27, 2019, the relay race started in Great Britain. For twelve months, the handcrafted baton will be passed from biker to biker, through 100 countries, once around the world. It started with stages from Manchester to London, from London to Paris, from Paris to Pamplona and so on. The drivers are called “guides”. Each driver is immortalized on the stick with her signature.
How can I become a guide at the WRWR?
Regardless of whether you ride a tricycle, a 250cc or a 1000cc – anyone can ride. As a “guide” you complete at least one day tour and make sure that the baton is in the right place at the right time to hand it over to the next driver. On the WRWR website you can register as drivers as follows:
1st step – decide on a route: First select the area on the world map, then the country in which you would like to drive as part of the WRWR. When you have selected a country, you will see the individual routes that are intended for that country. You can unfold the routes, then you can see the detailed information about the respective tour.
2nd step – registration: Complete the “Guardian Registration” on the WRWR site.
3rd step – costs: Choose from two options. Either the basic version for the equivalent of 5.80 euros (£ 5) or the package for the equivalent of around 30 euros (£ 25) with WRWR Guardian T-shirt, patch, sticker and certificate of participation.
There can be any number of female drivers for each tour. The baton will come to Germany on April 23, 2019 near Weil am Rhein. It then continues in five stages until April 27th to the border with Luxembourg. The global relay trip is expected to end in January 2020 in the United Arab Emirates.
