Bimota Tesi H2 with stub axle steering and compressor for 64,000 euros
Bimota Tesi H2
From 64,000 euros and as a carbon edition
The new Bimota has been on the market since October 2020. Only 250 copies are built. Now there is an even finer carbon edition.

Dina Dervisevic

Took over in 2019 Kawasaki 49.9 percent of the Bimota shares, whereupon both manufacturers presented their first cooperation project at EICMA 2019 – the Bimota Tesi H2. Due to the corona lockdown, production had to be postponed to September 2020, but the time has come since October 2020: The Tesi H2 can be reserved – initially only by European customers, but as soon as the model is launched, Bimota will gradually increase its availability expand other markets. Production will take place at the Bimota factory in Rimini, Italy. A limited edition of 250 copies is planned, each with a specially made serial number plate.

Tesi H2 as a carbon edition.
The new carbon edition of the Tesi H2 is limited to just ten copies. Technically, it doesn’t offer even more finesse, but its disguise shows even more carbon. It can now also be ordered. Calls prices Bimota but not here.
Bimota Tesi H2 costs 64,000 euros
The price for the normal Bimota Tesi H2: 64,000 euros (this includes 22 percent Italian VAT). So around 10,000 euros more than the Kawasaki Ninja H2 R. What does the customer get for it? Kawasaki’s liquid-cooled 998 cc in-line four-cylinder with supercharger in an aluminum chassis. Bore and stroke – 76 x 55 mm – correspond to Kawasaki’s H2, it takes over the compression ratio of 8.3: 1 from the H2 R. The machine generates a peak output of 231 hp at 11,500 rpm, the maximum torque of 141 Nm is 11,000 / min – which corresponds to the performance data of the Kawasaki Ninja H2.
The Bimota Tesi H2 is equipped with an abundance of aluminum milled parts and body parts made of carbon, such as the winglets. In total, with a dry weight of 207 kilos, it is around nine kilos lighter than the Ninja H2. The front and rear swing arms are made of aluminum with 100 mm travel at the front and 130 mm at the rear. The 17-inch forged wheels have 120 / 70ZR17 tires at the front and 200 / 55ZR17 tires at the rear. The Brembo calipers bite into two 330 mm brake discs at the front and a 220 mm disc at the rear. Both electronically controlled spring elements come from Ohlins.
Of course, the Bimota Tesi H2 rolls with the characteristic stub axle steering. “The front swing arm takes on the steered hub, which is controlled by the push rod. At the rear there is a conventional two-arm swing arm with a central spring strut.”, explained colleague Uli Baumann when he reported from EICMA 2019 on the first draft of the Bimota Tesi H2.
