One of the toughest hill climbs in the world, where machines and riders can express themselves to death, is Pikes Peak. The goal is simple: to climb this American mountain of 4301 m on a stony track made up of 156 turns over 19.93 km and 1440 m of vertical drop.. BMW recently illustrated itself by winning the 1200 class race with its demonic HP2 Megamoto.

Following this 85th edition of the Pikes Peak, the Bavarian brand will manufacture 40 copies of a Replica edition (but BM plans to do more depending on demand). Technically identical to the Megamoto, this HP2 Pikes Peak takes over the paint and the sponsors of the BMW USA Sierra machine. Behind this blue-white livery with red edging barely conceal the 113 hp of the Boxer 1200 supported by a manly chassis, an Ohlins shock absorber and less than 200 kilos all full..

Rather nice, and reserved for Japanese customers. BMW has in fact only planned to export this replica to the Japanese market. A German winner of an American race sold exclusively to Japanese…. rather cosmopolitan as a vision.
