Special 30th anniversary edition for the K 1300 S. Qu’hallucine-je? This motorcycle has absolutely not three decades in the wheels … But under this red, black and white dress, it is not the K 1300 S that is celebrated but the K engine. Because it was in 1983 that the BMW’s first 4-cylinder launched: the K 100. Unlike the majority of world production where the engine is placed forward facing, the 90-horsepower 987cc Bavarian is arranged longitudinally. Today, a BMW 4-legged produces 193 horsepower (and more) on an S 1000 RR.

The 1300’s K isn’t the RR’s sporting monster – it’s a 175 horsepower 1293cc, more road-going. But let’s come back to the specifics of this “30 Jahre K-modelle” edition. Apart from the decoration, the German sport-GT is equipped with a smoke bubble, ESA II electronic damping, RDC tire pressure control, HP footrests, an Akrapovic exhaust, heated grips, on-board computer, shifter and ASC stability control.
