If leather is not always supposed to / has to be, but a pure textile suit is also out of the question, the Buse Ferno driver’s suit made of cowhide and polyamide is a good alternative.

The combination of jacket and trousers can be connected using circumferential zippers, but both parts can also be worn independently of each other.

Thanks to the extensive range of sizes, every body type should find a suitable Ferno counterpart.

Apart from adjusting the waistband on the jacket and pants, there are no options to optimize the fit. The protectors sit where they should be and are the perfect size.

The back protector, which is absolutely recommended, must, however, be retrofitted. All areas relevant to falls are covered with leather.

The side pockets, which are much too narrow, are not appealing, they are more for children’s hands.

The long size we tested offers really long sleeves and trouser legs.

With its leather-textile mix, the Bose Freno combination always cuts a fine figure – whether on a tourer, an athlete or a retro bike. And with a price of around 230 euros for the trousers and just under 300 euros for the jacket, the Buse Freno is worth every one of them.

Long tall size indeed
Baumann
Sleeves and legs are really long.
We tested the suit in long size 106. Fits perfectly with a height of 1.90 meters and 90 kilograms. The long size does what its name promises. No flood trousers – regardless of the sitting position. The same goes for the sleeves. The selected size should fit, however, because apart from a waist adjustment on the jacket and trousers, there are no options to adjust the fit of the clothing. The protectors sit where they should be and are optimally sized. The back protector, which is absolutely recommended, must, however, be retrofitted. All areas relevant to falls are covered with leather.

Suitable from 15 to over 30 degrees
With the climate membrane inner jacket and pants zipped in, the Ferno-Kombi can be driven from an outside temperature of around 15 degrees. The inlays should be removed from 25 degrees at the latest. But then the property also works “waterproof” Whistle. In addition, the jacket and trousers sit a little looser due to the system. But there is no heat build-up even at 30 degrees. The TFL Cool System (a special surface coating that reflects heat), which keeps the leather surfaces cooler, also played a role in this. Anyone who remodels should definitely pay attention to the inner lining connection zippers – they look quite fragile. With the membrane, the rider stayed dry even after a long ride in the rain, but the upper material soaks up and becomes very heavy. In addition, in contrast to the textile surfaces, the leather parts dry very slowly. The upper material is also very sensitive to dirt. The ventilation openings in the chest and back area of the jacket as well as on the sides of the legs only allow fresh air to flow through the suit to a very limited extent.
Pockets too small

Only narrow hands can reach into the pockets.
The side pockets, which are much too narrow, are not pleasing, they are more for the child’s hand. There is only a waterproof pocket in the lining. Those who like it a little more revealing around the neck will love the low-cut collar, those who prefer to be high-necked have to grab an additional scarf. And what else did you notice? The Velcro fasteners bite firmly and firmly, the zippers run easily and reliably.
