With the Atacama textile suit, clothing specialist Held has launched a new top model for adventure pilots. We were able to drive the suit on one lap through the Allgau.

The name Atacama, which is derived from the desert in Chile, is the program for the new textile suit from Held. Enduro riders should feel well-equipped on and off-road and of course also on long tours, because the station wagon should be windproof, waterproof and highly breathable.

Well-controllable temperature balance

The Atacama combination is made of a 3-layer construction in which the Gore-Tex membrane is firmly connected to the upper material and a specially developed robust inner lining. Should the temperatures rise too high, the jacket and trousers offer numerous, waterproof, closable ventilation options. Up to 22 degrees outside temperature, higher temperatures did not prevail during the test drive, it is easy to set an individual feel-good climate. A lot of temperature compensation can be achieved with the long zips in the sleeves. However, when the vehicle is stationary, the body’s fluids rise quickly.

Width adjustment systems on the legs, waistband, sleeves, hips and waist ensure a perfect, flutter-free fit. In addition, the knee protectors can be adjusted in height for a perfect fit. The numerous stretch inserts guarantee sufficient freedom of movement.

The safety equipment includes protectors in the back, elbows, shoulders, hips and knees. There are also optional protectors for the chest, ribs and rump area. All areas of the suit that are at risk of falling are also covered with highly abrasion-resistant material. Small items can be stored in the jacket in two waterproof outer pockets, a back pocket and an inner pocket. The pants have four outside pockets.

Can be upgraded with accessories

Since the Atacama combination is offered with the Held clip-in system, the corresponding modules can of course be clipped in here. For example, we had the new one Airbag vest integrated. The Atacama station wagon is also pre-equipped for the Held-Light-System (80 euros), in which LED light guides in the back area ensure better visibility. A hydration bladder (20 euros) can also be installed.

So that the Atacama fits almost everyone, offers hero the Atacama components in sizes from S to 5XL (women to 4XL) as well as in various long and short sizes.
