Royal Moto France is counting on Quadro to bounce back in 2013
After its judicial safeguard phase started this fall (read MNC of October 3, 2012), Royal Moto France (RMF), which had to lay off 28 employees on December 12, intends to refocus on its main brands and is counting on the development of Quadro to bounce back in 2013.
After its judicial safeguard phase started this fall (read), Royal Moto France (RMF), which had to lay off 28 employees on December 12, intends to refocus on its main brands and is counting on the development of Quadro to rebound in 2013.
A delicate situation
"These layoffs are indeed part of the safeguard and restructuring procedure put in place in October", confirms Olivier Bazin, in charge of communications for several brands of Royal Moto France. RMF, a subsidiary of Royal Accessoires Sport, should thus "refocus its activities" around its main brands (Husqvarna, Quadro, Caberg, Mac Adam and Schuberth).
Directed by the former boss of Piaggio France Alain Bourdoncle, RMF owes this bad patch in particular to the loss of the distribution of the American brand of all-terrain equipment Fox. Forced to close one of its divisions in July (Royal Outdoor) following the non-renewal of its contracts with Fox, then to separate nine employees in the process, Royal Accessories Sport now employs a little less than 50 people. In addition to the Fox brand, the group also ceased the distribution of Dutch Macna equipment and Italian Sidi boots, now distributed by SEMC..
Contacted by Site, the head office of Royal Accessories Sport is currently unreachable due to "inventory": the company’s answering machine specifies that it will be possible to contact it "from January 14".
"The group prefers to focus on the future and the positive things that must happen in the near future such as the launch of new products at Quadro, in particular", explains Olivier Bazin adding that a "recovery plan is planned".
The four-wheeler to the rescue !
This relaunch should normally go through the Italian manufacturer Quadro, of which RMF is responsible for importing into France. The first brand to offer an alternative to the Piaggio MP3 via the Quadro 350 D (read in particular), Quadro is gradually strengthening its offer and intends to become a key player in urban mobility, which RMF naturally intends to take advantage of. !
With this objective in mind, Quadro will launch "in the coming weeks" the second generation of engine on its three-wheeler, before starting the marketing of the Parkour 350, its famous four-wheel scooter promised for "summer 2013" to a price included "between 8000 and 8490 €" (read in particular).
According to our information, Quadro is also in the process of finalizing its project for a 4D four-wheeled maxi-scooter powered by "a 550 to 580 cc engine". These four-wheeled vehicles (yes, like a car!) Are aimed at new scooter riders attracted in particular by their greater stability. To be continued on MNC: stay connected !
