The Yamaha plant in Catalonia builds engines from 60 to 650 cm3, mainly intended for the European market. According to the Japanese economic daily Nikkei, it would have produced 70,000 in 2010 for a total capacity of 130,000.

According to the unions of the plant, quoted by the Spanish press, this closure could result in the elimination of 410 jobs out of 500. Some "mobile" employees could nevertheless be offered an assignment in Saint-Quentin, which will now be the only one.
