Towards the start of the MotoGP season on July 19 in Jerez
The boss of the MotoGP Grands Prix hopes to be able to launch the 2020 season on July 19 in Jerez (Spain) and end it in early November, after having organized a dozen races out of the 20 scheduled. Explanations.
After several meetings deemed "fruitful", Carmelo Ezpeleta waits until next week to be able to formalize the new 2020 MotoGP race calendar.

"The calendar that we hope to present next week will start if all goes well on July 19 in Jerez", indicates the CEO of Dorna Sports, specifying that "the last race will take place in early November" after "" out of the 20 initially planned.
Nothing new for the, but the races will take place mainly in Europe (sometimes with two race weekends on the same circuit). The four non-European rounds that have not yet been canceled (Thailand, Malaysia, USA and Argentina) must still be agreed by the end of July.
12, 14 or 16 events
"After the first two races, we will see if the calendar will be 12, 14 or a maximum of 16 events", adds Mr. Ezpeleta before describing the health protocol to which the pilots and their teams will be subjected on the circuits: "in principle , any driver coming to participate in the race will see a doctor before and if the doctor decides that he has to take a test, he will do it before coming to Spain for the first race. Before coming to the paddock there will be another test, then a protocol with control every day and especially the isolation between each team. (…) There will be no link between the permanent staff of the cicuits and the "MotoGP" family..
