Conversion Radical Ducati 9 1-2 Cafe Racer

Radical Ducati 9 1/2

Tribute Ducati from RAD Madrid

And the story is going on … that is the good news, because the bad news was at the end of 2013: The Madrid-based Spanish company Radical Ducati with the makers Pepo Rosell and Reyes Ramon will cease operations after more than 15 years . Ducatiamo from France will continue the conversion operations and sales.

The Spanish company Radical D.ucati is perhaps not the most famous of all custom forges, nor is it really big. Nevertheless, the creative guys leave a big gap when it comes to charismatic and race-agile motorcycle conversions. It was mainly the works of art from Bologna in Italy, i.e. the Ducati gems, that set the tone. But in their almost two decades-long career, the men from Madrid have also created creations based on the Yamaha XT600 or BMW R 80 ST during their dirt track phase.

Radical manifestations in their name began their triumphal march in the tuner and customizer world under the designation ‘7 1/2 Sportiva’ or ‘900 Supersport Matador’. The parts of their unique small series RAD02 can be applied to a whole range of brands and models.

RAD 9 1/2 narrow, light, agile

In line with RAD’s own creativity, the French company Ducatimo is now continuing to work, producing and selling the RAD02 and MANX parts to the scene eager for radical modifications. Because the radical always referred to their overall compositions as well as to this creation, called RAD 9 1/2, a cafe racer in the truest sense of the word. Dedicated to the victorious racer Vincenzo Nencioni, made famous by the racing Ducatis of the 1970s, based on single-cylinder models with 450 cc. So narrow, light, agile.

So Pepo and Reyes put this opus on the wheels, based on a frame from the Ducati Monster M900 from 1997, with a slim but powerful engine from the Ducati ST2. In racing style at its best, already recognizable by the minimalized racing hump, the single-sided swing arm and the rear of a Ducati 916 – and the shortly before ending exhaust can of a laser megaphone system including manifolds from Wolfman.

The Radical Ducati 9 1/2 comes across as a completely naked bike, but in the best sense and breathing the breath of a vintage racing class. Who doesn’t want to grab it, own it, and run it on the most exciting racetracks? Fortunately, there are a few enthusiasts who manufacture and distribute this and other works and parts for the world after the RAD era:
"Ducatiamo will continue Radical Ducati work: We inform you that french company Ducatiamo will continue with Radical Ducati work, fabricating and selling the RAD 02 parts and MANX parts."!
