The 5th edition of the Motostra will take place like last year in Clermont-Ferrand, the French capital of short films, on June 18 and 19. Happy coincidence of the calendar, it is also a weekend where aficionados will be deprived of MotoGP !

This unique short film festival dedicated to motorcycles was created in 2001 by the Editions of the French Federation of Angry Motards (FFMC) and Moto Magazine.

While in 2003 no prize for best documentary was awarded, "Voyage sur un aigle" by Philippe Lucchese (free download on the net, see the link in "more") was awarded last year.

The 2005 edition is balanced. Eight short fiction films against seven documentaries for 15 films in competition.

The selected films will be screened in front of a jury composed among others of Patrick Grandperret (director of the film "Courts-circuits" in 1981), Jean-François Stevenin (actor), Remi Julienne (stuntman), Franck Margerin (designer) and Frederic Brozdziak (FFMC).

The screenings will start on Saturday June 18 at 2 p.m. and the announcement of the results will be made on Sunday 19 at 12 p.m..

Alongside the competition, the film by Pierre William Glenn (cinematographer among others of Truffaut, Lelouch and Tavernier) “ 23:58 »Will be screened in the presence of the director every two hours from 3 to 9 pm on Saturday and at 10 am on Sunday.

This film was shot in real time during the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1993, in the midst of the audience of the time. It is about a robbery during the 24h motorcycle, with Jean-Pierre Malo and Jean-François Stevenin.
